The inaugural Grenada Flower Festival will unfold from November 8 to 15, 2026, spotlighting the island’s botanical legacy and honoring its horticultural producers. This marks the first national celebration of its kind, building on Grenada’s growing reputation in floral excellence.
Festival Follows Record Chelsea Flower Show Success
Grenada’s participation in the festival stems directly from its recent triumph at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London, where local exhibitors secured 18 gold awards. The festival opens at Myristic Mountain, blending cultural immersion with nature. A family-focused day in the tropical rainforest will include guided waterfall hikes, forest trails, Caribbean cuisine, live performances, and an official welcome ceremony hosted by local leaders.
Attendees can then explore the Gardens & Scents tour, a journey through Botanical Gardens, Tower Estate, Gemrose Garden, and T’s Eco Garden. Along the route, visitors will encounter rare tropical orchids, hardy succulents, and centuries-old plant species. Demonstrations will showcase how native botanicals, such as West Indian bay, ylang-ylang, allspice, mace, and vanilla, are processed into perfumes, essential oils, and culinary extracts.
A dedicated culinary experience, the Sip & Stir tour, combines a locally sourced lunch with a private rum distillery tour and a hands-on cocktail-making session using fresh garden ingredients. The evening concludes with a sunset rum tasting on the beach, offering a relaxed finale to the day’s botanical and gastronomic discoveries.
Additional highlights include afternoon tea on the veranda at Smithy’s Garden, a visit to Fort Frederick and Palm Tree Gardens, and a meal beside the Annandale Waterfall, where cascading waters create a serene backdrop.
Festival guests will stay at InterContinental Grenada, La Sagesse, a newly opened 120-room beachfront resort debuting on November 4, 2026. The property sits along La Sagesse Bay, featuring ocean-view accommodations, a full-service spa, a beach club, and five dining options. Among them are Solara, a rooftop bar, and Coralie, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant that prioritizes Caribbean-sourced ingredients. Room rates begin at around $420 per night for two guests.
