Eco resort to open in Visakhapatnam by 2029

Atmosphere Core has signed a deal to open a 180-key resort in Visakhapatnam, set to launch in early 2029. The property, named Atmosphere Hillora Eco Resort, will sit within the Eastern Ghats, surrounded by lakes and mountains, about an hour from Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport.

The resort will operate under Atmosphere’s sub-brand, targeting leisure travelers, destination weddings, and corporate groups. It will include cottages, suites, and private-pool villas, all designed to complement the surrounding environment.

Design and amenities

The development will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a café lounge, a specialty restaurant, and multiple bars, including a poolside option. Menus will mix international dishes with Southern Indian flavors.

A wellness center will anchor the property’s health offerings. Guests can visit the ELE|NA Ayur Spa, use the outdoor swimming pool, or work out in the fitness center. The resort will also provide extensive event spaces, including convention halls, conference rooms, and open-air venues for corporate meetings and high-end weddings.

Salil Panigrahi, co-founder and managing director of Atmosphere Core, said the project aligns with the company’s expansion plans in India. Visakhapatnam’s role as both a business and tourism hub made it a key location for the new property. The resort aims to deliver a fresh, creative experience for travelers.

Partnership aims to boost Southern India’s premium tourism

The project is a joint venture with A V N G Developers LLP. A V N Govinda Rao, the developer’s managing director, called the collaboration an opportunity to set new standards in the region. The company’s reputation for excellence matches the vision for the resort in this lush area.

Visakhapatnam has become a more attractive destination in recent years. The city combines coastal tourism—beaches, Buddhist heritage, and nature-based activities—with its role as an industrial and maritime center. Growth in IT, healthcare, and global capability centers has also increased business travel demand.

Souvagya Mohapatra, Atmosphere Core’s managing director for India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka, said the resort would serve high-end weddings, corporate events, and weekend getaways. The area’s natural beauty and cultural heritage made it an ideal choice for expansion. The company plans to offer a progressive and immersive experience.

The project arrives as Andhra Pradesh’s hospitality sector attracts more investment. Atmosphere Core’s existing properties in India focus on high-end stays in remote or scenic locations.

Atmosphere Hillora Eco Resort is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2029, expanding the company’s portfolio in the country.
