As our kids get older, we are planning trips around their interests and getting them more involved in the travel planning process.  Our 10 year old daughter had spent the last two years reading her way through everything that the children/young adult’s author, Rick Riordan had written.  She devoured his stories based on the fictional character Percy Jackson and her knowledge and interest in Greek mythology blossomed.

When I found cheap flights from Asia to

A weekend in Fife with children, Scotland

A weekend in Fife with children, Scotland. When Visit Scotland invited us to spend some time trying out the food in Fife I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Especially as a family of vegetarians and pescatarians.

But Fife is undergoing a foodie revolution with many farms and producers rejecting large-scale production and returning to traditional methods. It’s an effort which is really bringing about quality over quantity.

The peninsular is just an hournorth of Edinburgh by car and is filled with new and exciting tastes, way beyond any of our hopes, or fears of dare I say

There are now more countries and territories—118, according to Kayak.com data—that welcome any US traveler without restrictions. Of the 109 destinations that still require testing, quarantines, or both for unvaccinated travelers, 17 don’t allow US tourism anyway.

When people ask Kami Turky about his travels to Saudi Arabia, he has two pieces of advice: Don’t miss traditional food like Kabsaa mixed rice dish, and Tharida lamb and vegetable stew, “which are delicious.”

“And bring your sunglasses,” says Turky, the head of logistics for an aquarium supply website in Flint, Mich. Because it’s always hot and sunny.

There’s been a lot of curiosity about travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

This isn’t the holiday travel season to procrastinate. Book your tickets this month.

No, it’s not too early to start planning holiday travel.

It might seem early. Thanksgiving and winter holidays are months away. But experts predict the record demand that turned this summer into a chaotic travel season will carry over to the holidays. If you don’t start planning your trip now, you may be going nowhere.

“Book everything now,” says Tim Hentschel, CEO of HotelPlanner, a travel technology company. “This will ensure availability and act as a hedge against inflation and ongoing cost increases. If you wait until November and December, your winter holiday travel will only be more expensive.”

Fall Travel Is Changing. Here’s What To Know When Making Plans

Paris, the City of Lights, is going dark. To save energy, the Eiffel Tower is turning off its lights earlier at night—just one example of how tourist destinations are adapting to several pressures facing the travel industry this fall.

The iconic landmark, as well as municipal buildings in Paris, face a light curfew in part because of the war in Ukraine and the ongoing energy crisis in Europe. But disruptions and delays
