Camping Interlude and Canvas holidays in le de Ré, France

Globalmouse writer Louise traveled to Camping Interlude in le de Ré with Canvas Holidays.

There’s a wonderful secret on the West coast of France, somewhere peaceful, uncrowded but with a real sense of community.

le de Ré is a small island just off the coast with the fantastic campsite – Camping Interlude. The kind of place everyone has been recommended to by a friend as one of the best campsites in France for young families. And since then have been coming back for years.

Siripanna Villa Resort and Spa, Chiang Mai, Thailand with kids

Chiang Mai is a beautiful city and wonderfully evocative to visit with kids. Packed full of history, animal experiences and flavoursome food it’s a lovely place to visit. We took a family trip on our trip to Thailand with kids and checked in to the Siripanna Villa Resort and Spa, Chiang Mai for a long weekend of fun. Set just outside of the old town it’s the perfect location to feel away from the busy center but still be close enough to get into the main sights.

Staying on the Kinloss Estate in the Garden Cottage in Cupar, Fife

We traveled to Scotland in late Spring for our family weekend in Fife and loved the drive over the Forth Road Bridge and into the Scottish countryside beyond. This is such a great area to visit to enjoy the outdoors but without being as remote as some other areas of Scotland. We stayed in the Garden Cottage on the Kinloss Estate, Cupar and it was the perfect weekend retreat.

If you’re looking to spend spring in the Netherlands then this is the post for you. We were in Amsterdam in March and the Netherlands in April and had a

Florida airport closures, airline travel waivers

As Hurricane Ian approaches Florida’s Sarasota County, some Florida airports have announced closures, and airlines are offering travel waivers for those impacted.

Many travelers have already had their plans disrupted. Nearly 2,000 US flights slated for Wednesday have been canceled, according to the flight-tracking site Flightaware.com, with the highest cancellations at Florida airports.

At a White House briefing, FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell said the entire state will likely be affected by heavy rains, strong winds, flash flooding, storm surge and power outages this week.
