St Brides Spa Hotel, Saundersfoot – Hotel and Location:

St Brides has an amazing location. Set high above Saundersfoot overlooking the beach and harbor.

The hotel is fairly modern and has a number of bedrooms overlooking the sea. It also has a couple of larger apartments set aside from the main hotel.

It is a short stroll down to the seaside town of Saundersfoot. With its gorgeous sandy beach and small smattering of restaurants and shops.

The views of the sea and countryside are just beautiful.

Sleep:

We stayed in one of St Brides ‘apartments’ which isn’t part of the main hotel.

It had a lounge area with sofabed (perfect for hanging out at the end of a busy day) .

There was also a small but very functional kitchen and dining area.

Food at St Brides Spa Hotel:

Breakfast at St Brides is in the main restaurant overlooking the sea.

Pastries at St Brides

There is a great spread of different breads and pastries. And a lovely selection of fruit juices and yogurts, fruits, cereals etc.

There is also a hot menu which the children enjoyed ordering pancakes with cream and strawberries from.

Along with a full Welsh breakfast, haddock, smoked salmon and eggs.

In the evening we ordered room service with a delicious goats cheese starter.

And main courses of field mushroom risotto with cep cream which was so tasty.

All followed up by a sticky toffee pudding.

The Best Bits of St Brides Spa Hotel:

St Brides is all about the sea and those views dominate the main hotel. They are both relaxing and inspiring in equal measure.

The spa is a lovely space to unwind and relax in the infinity hydrothermal pool and enjoy the time.

Worth Bearing in Mind:

The apartments are great for families who need that extra space but they do miss out on the views of the main hotel. Also to get to breakfast or the restaurant you have to walk across the car park which can be a bit windswept on cold winter days.

It’s not a major problem but it’s a shame not to be able to stare out at those fantastic views all day long. (There are smaller, family rooms in the main hotel that don’t miss out on the view).

Child Friendly?

Children are very welcome at St Brides and there are children’s menus and board games in the hotel’s lounge. But I would say that this is a hotel that does probably suit couples more than families.

Lounge

The spa is very much a child-free zone and not available to under 18s. Which is a shame but completely understandable given the nature of the space.

That said the apartments provide an ideal set up for a family and we felt completely welcomed at St Brides.
